The minefield of online learning

I searched and found courses, reading review after review. A few times picking a suitable course before, rejecting it due to dubious looking websites. I felt like going back to the OU, I compared qualifications and changed my mind lots before narrowing my search down to course providers with a public accessible forum and a social media presence.

The nature of distance/online learning means you really must motivate yourself and never meeting people can seem odd at first. It’s not for everyone but has been worthwhile for me.

I needed a strong base for this mountain climb so I chose Access to HE with a highly reputable company the Distance Learning Centre. The DLC provides a range of Access courses and signing up was simple. Starting in March with the DLC I quickly submitted my induction activities; all the level 2 work must be sent in the post. My tutor is in daily contact with me giving encouragement and pointers. So far I have almost finished the level 2 English and have enjoyed level 2 maths. There is much more to do and a long road ahead of me.

After I finish the maths I will update you on my progress.
